Thank you for using SQUARE Mobility.
Until now, we have offered a license plate acquisition service to customers who purchased electric kick scooters, but we have decided to end this service on January 1, 2026 .
Reason for service termination
Amendment to the Administrative Procedures Law (effective January 1, 2026)
The main reason for the termination of this service is due to the amendment of the Administrative Scrivener Act .
This amendment to the law clearly prohibits individuals who are not certified administrative scriveners or companies that are not certified administrative scrivener corporations from preparing documents to be submitted to government agencies at the request of clients (other people) .
The "Light Motor Vehicle Tax Declaration and License Plate Issuance Application Form" required to obtain a license plate is a document that must be submitted to a government agency (city, ward, town, or village office), so our proxy service of preparing and submitting the form on behalf of our customers may be in conflict with the revised law.
In order to comply with the law, we have no choice but to terminate this service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your understanding.
Regarding future number registration
In principle, customers who purchase after January 1, 2026 will need to apply for license plates themselves .
*It is also possible to have an administrative scrivener prepare the documents on your behalf, but this will incur an additional fee.

- You can purchase compulsory automobile liability insurance at our store
- You can also purchase insurance at a convenience store or insurance agency.
- A one-year contract costs around 7,000 yen.

Please note that even if you purchase an electric scooter from us by December 31, 2025 and apply for our service, we may be unable to provide you with license plate registration.

A. Q. When can I get a sales certificate?
A. If the product is in stock, it can be issued on the day of purchase, but it may take some time. If the product is out of stock, it will be delivered to us by the manufacturer and then issued by hand. (The same applies to online purchases.)
Q. Where can I purchase compulsory automobile liability insurance?
A. You can apply at our store. If you apply on your own, you can apply at major convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Family Mart, or at an insurance agency.
